Governance

London Academy became a multi-academy trust in April 2013. The Trust is named AIM Academies Trust and comprises London Academy and Deansbrook Junior School.

As a charity and company limited by guarantee, AIM Academies is governed by a Board of Directors who are responsible for, and oversee, the management and administration of the Company and the academies run by the Company. London Academy is one of the academies.

The Directors are accountable to external government agencies including the Charity Commission and the Department for Education for the quality of the education they provide and they are required to have systems in place through which they can assure themselves of quality, safety and good practice.

In order to discharge these responsibilities, the Directors appoint people (the “Local Governors”) with appropriate skills and knowledge to serve on a board (the “Local Governing Body”) which has been established to ensure the good governance of the Academy.

  • The Local Governing Body meets three times a year
  • The Local Governing body, therefore, has delegated responsibilities from the Trust Board.
